[ad_1] GG News Bureau Mumbai, 14th Oct. The arrest and incarceration of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi have not quelled the dangers posed by his sprawling criminal network, which stretches across multiple states and maintains strong links to terror groups. Despite being behind bars for nearly a decade, Bishnoiâs influence over the gangster-terror nexus remains substantial. His alleged role in the recent murder of Baba Siddique, a former Maharashtra minister and NCP leader, highlights the alarming persistence of his operations. This incident is only the latest in a series of crimes where the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has connected Bishnoiâs network to terror activities and smuggling operations. Bishnoiâs connection to banned terror outfit Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) has long been a point of concern for law enforcement agencies. The NIAâs ongoing investigations reveal a disturbing trend: a coordinated effort between Bishnoiâs syndicate and pro-Khalistan elements to destabilize the region. Notably, Bishnoiâs alliance with Goldy Brar, a Canada-based gangster with ties to BKI, has allowed him to extend his reach beyond Indiaâs borders. The duoâs alleged involvement in extortion and violence, such as the RPG attack on Punjabâs State Intelligence headquarters in Mohali, has exposed the dangerous nexus between organized crime and terrorism. The NIAâs efforts to clamp down on Bishnoiâs syndicate have been substantial, involving the filing of chargesheets, the attachment of properties in multiple states, and the arrest of key associates. However, the persistence of Bishnoiâs criminal enterprise, even from within the confines of jail, underscores the complexities of dismantling such networks. His ability to coordinate operations with incarcerated gang members and manage seamless communication channels speaks to a systemic problem in how gangsters exploit prison facilities to maintain their control over criminal activities. A particularly concerning aspect of this network is its relentless recruitment drive. Bishnoiâs gang continues to prey on impressionable youth across Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Maharashtra, Delhi, Rajasthan, and Jharkhand. This recruitment not only fuels their extortion rackets but also strengthens the nexus with terror outfits, making it harder to isolate and neutralize such threats. The youth drawn into these networks often become pawns, trained to carry out violent activities under the directives of gang leaders like Bishnoi and their terror associates. The case of Bishnoi also reveals deeper challenges within Indiaâs fight against organized crime and terror networks. The involvement of cross-border elements, such as the smuggling of arms, ammunition, and drugs from Pakistan, adds another layer of complexity to the NIAâs task. For every move made to weaken Bishnoiâs grip, his syndicate adapts, seeking new ways to maintain their operations and assert their influence over local communities. This issue is not merely about law enforcement; it is about the systemic threats to regional stability and security. It calls for a multi-pronged approach, including community outreach programs to prevent youth recruitment, better monitoring of communication within prisons, and enhanced intelligence-sharing between states. The NIAâs work is crucial, but without coordinated efforts across law enforcement agencies and a focus on dismantling the support systems that allow syndicates like Bishnoiâs to thrive, the challenge remains significant. The death of Baba Siddique is a tragic reminder of how deeply entrenched such networks are, capable of orchestrating violence even from within prison walls. The path forward lies in a relentless pursuit of justice, closing the loopholes that enable these syndicates, and ensuring that the long arm of the law reaches every corner of the criminal-terror nexus. Only then can we hope to curtail the influence of figures like Lawrence Bishnoi and secure a safer future for the region. [ad_2]

Hemant Soren's Potential Comeback: Jharkhand Politics Braces for Shakeup
In a surprising turn of events, former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren may be set to reclaim his position at the helm of the state government. This development comes just months after Soren's arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with an alleged land scam case, which led to his resignation from the top post.
Sources close to the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leadership reveal that the party is seriously considering reinstating Soren as the Chief Minister. This move is seen as a bold statement by the JMM-led coalition government, which has maintained that the charges against Soren are politically motivated.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, a senior JMM leader stated, "We want to send a clear message of leadership and stability. Hemant ji's return as CM would reaffirm our commitment to the people of Jharkhand and our belief in his innocence."
The potential return of Soren to the Chief Minister's office is being viewed as a strategic move by the ruling coalition to consolidate its position ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Political analysts suggest that this could energize the party's base and present a united front against the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
However, the proposed move is not without its challenges. The BJP has vehemently opposed any such decision, calling it a "mockery of justice." BJP state president Babulal Marandi commented, "How can someone facing serious corruption charges be reinstated as CM? This shows the utter disregard the JMM has for law and governance."
Legal experts are divided on the feasibility of Soren's return while his case is still under investigation. Senior advocate Ravi Kumar noted, "While there's no legal bar on Soren becoming CM again, it would be unprecedented for someone facing active ED investigation to hold such a high office."
Meanwhile, the current Chief Minister, Champai Soren (no relation to Hemant), who took over after Hemant's arrest, has maintained a diplomatic stance. "Any decision regarding leadership will be taken collectively by our alliance partners," he stated in a recent press conference.
The Congress party, a key ally in the ruling coalition, has expressed cautious support for the move. State Congress chief Rajesh Thakur said, "We stand with our alliance partner JMM and will respect their decision on leadership."
As speculation mounts, the JMM is expected to make a formal announcement in the coming days. The potential return of Hemant Soren as Chief Minister would undoubtedly reshape the political landscape of Jharkhand and could have far-reaching implications for regional politics in eastern India.
The eyes of the nation are now on Jharkhand, as this unfolding political drama could set a precedent for how cases against sitting chief ministers are handled in the future.

Jharkhandâs Ex-CM gave an interview to Kapil Sibal before getting arrested, shared key details
Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in the context of a land fraud case. Before he was arrested, Soren made clear in a statement that he was not afraid of the actions of probe agencies.
He appeared in an interview with Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal for his "Dil Se" YouTube programme where he criticized Bharatiya Janata-led Centre for making him a target using âpolitical objectivesâ.
Hemantâs interview was shot on Tuesday in New Delhi. However, the release was made on Thursday. Soren in his interview also said that ever since the Jharkhand government was formed, several efforts have been made to topple the JMM government.
Hemant was subjected to a seven-hour question and answer round before being arrested by the ED. He was charged with an alleged money laundering case.
âAs soon as I formed the government, it started facing challenges in which our primary opposition people were involved, but we tackled that,â Hemant Soren told Sibal.
Hemant took a dig on ED and said that the law enforcement agency has been sending him summonses since 2022.
âThere is no FIR, there is no name, but the agency keeps trying to establish that 'you have broken a law',â Soren said during the interview.
"We (JMM) do politics on our own strength, we have stood on our own, we will protect what we have built," Hemant Soren said claiming that the actions taken by ED are solely aimed at harassing the ministers of his party- JMM.
"They know that if I am in the field, they will have problems. First, threaten, then give inducements, and then they get to such tactics... When they could not win politically, they are using other means," the ex-CM said.
"They can keep targeting me, I don't care. I am not scared of this. We entered power politics because only through this can we support people," Hemant Soren said.
